STRONG FOR LIFE

A holistic coaching service that supports you to work through your binge eating

I remember the exact moment that this first photo was taken. Smiling on the outside, but inside, I felt completely lost.

Just a few days earlier, I’d experienced one of the lowest moments in my struggle with food. My Binge Eating Disorder was leaving me to feel alone, ashamed, and out of control — I was stuck in a cycle of binging and obsessing over my image that had taken over my life since my first (and never again!) bodybuilding competition, 3 years before. The idea that I wasn’t living the life that deep down, I knew I could be living, filled me with despair and I kept wondering: Is this what it’s going to be like for the rest of my life?

There wasn’t one big moment where everything changed. It was a gradual process that started with opening up to those closest to me and those who were professionally equipped to help. From there I began to improve my relationship with food and myself. I started applying what I knew: My education in Developmental Psychology and Behaviour Change, my experience as a Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach, and the lessons I learned through countless moments of falling and getting back up again trial. I started treating myself like I would a client — with curiosity, compassion, and patience.

Little by little, I built my own framework for change — an approach that helped me rebuild my relationship with food, nurture my health and wellbeing without obsession and overcome my eating disorder.

Today, I help others do the same. Not by offering a "cure," but by supporting you to develop a deeper understanding of your habits and behaviours, reconnect with your body, and find strength and confidence in every aspect of your life

If you’ve been feeling stuck, you’re not alone. I’ve been there. And I’d be honoured to walk with you on your journey to a better relationship with food and with yourself.

Hey, I’m Matt

A Different Kind of Coaching

This isn’t a quick-fix program. There’s no countdown, no finish line, and no one-size-fits-all plan.

Because you’re not a problem to be solved — you’re a person to be understood.

What we do together is collaborative. We work side-by-side to figure out what actually works for you — not what worked for someone else, or what it feels like you "should" be doing. There is no ‘right’ way this should look. Healing is personal — and your version will be unique. That’s not just okay, it’s exactly how it should be.

We’ll look beyond just what you eat and explore why food has held the role it has in your life. We’ll untangle old patterns, build emotional awareness, and strengthen your sense of self — so that your relationship with food and your body becomes calmer, kinder, and more aligned with who you truly are.

You will get physically stronger — no question. But the real transformation?

That happens when you develop self-compassion, mental resilience and emotional strength that you can carry into every part of your life.

Do Any of These Emotions Sound Familiar?

Fear

In amongst all the negative thoughts about yourself are these ever-present, unanswered questions: "Am I ever going to get my life back? How much will my relationship with food impact the rest of my life?”

You fear losing control around food again. You are focused on pleasing others as you fear of ‘being in the way’, but as a result, that leaves no room to look out for yourself.

Anger

Underlying every thought and feeling is this white hot anger toward yourself (and maybe even the world). You are angry at yourself for allowing your disorder to take control of your life and you’re even more angry that you can’t figure out how to overcome it and “just stop”.

The stress of trying to turn this losing battle around is exhausting.

Loneliness

You feel cut off from everyone. It’s like you are living in an adjacent yet entirely separate reality to everyone else. You shut people out to make sure they don’t see what’s really going on and, by doing so, force yourself into further alienation. Even if you did tell someone how you really felt, would they even understand? You block people out in the hopes that you go unnoticed and you don’t have to deal with people’s pity.

Lost

You don’t know what a healthy relationship with food looks like anymore. And that has made you question everything else. Your identity, your direction. Food dictates who you are and what you can and can’t do. You don’t recognise yourself anymore. Your identity has been lost to your disorder and you feel directionless. Your life is not your own anymore and you’ve accepted that whatever dreams and ambitions you once had are now never going to happen.

Helplessness

You feel stuck. Powerless. You’ve tried countless approaches, tactics and tricks and nothing has worked. You feel like things are never going to get better because food has this hold over you and there is nothing that you, or anyone else, can do about it.

Shame

You feel guilty after eating, like you’ve failed. Your self-confidence is non-existent. Speaking about your disorder feels taboo and leaves you feeling embarrassed and ashamed. This shame becomes deeper and deeper after every binge and this pushes your disorder further into secrecy to try and protect yourself from the perceived judgement of others. This shame begins to seep into every aspect of your life and you find yourself paralysed by your lack of self-belief and self-worth.

These emotions are more common than you think

And you’re not broken for having them.

Even though they are challenging, we’re not trying to get rid of these emotions. They tell us things about what’s going on. They’re important.

We are, in fact, trying to do the opposite.

Hear yourself out. Listen to what you’re trying to tell yourself through these emotions and accept them as a part of you, as they are a part of everyone.

How We Work Together

A Coaching Method That Supports the Whole You

  • Mental and Emotional Health

We work together through weekly or bi-weekly Zoom sessions using tools and strategies from CBT, DBT and Mindfulness practices to understand what’s really going on beneath the food patterns — without judgment, pressure, or shame.

It’s like we’re Sherlock Holmes and Watson (I’ll be Watson) - Mind Detectives solving the mystery of compassion, self-love and food freedom.

In between these calls you can still contact me whenever you need me.

  • Habits & Behaviours

Our habits and behaviours are shaped by how we think and feel — but the reverse is also true. By understanding this, we can start to shift the routines that no longer serve you and build new ones that support confidence, joy, and a more peaceful relationship with food. It’s about creating habits that align with who you want to be, not just what you want to change.

  • A New Way to Eat

No calorie counting or labelling any food as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. We focus on nourishment, structure and flexibility, helping you reconnect with hunger, fullness, and trust in your body.

Food can be fuel, but it can also be something to enjoy, bring us satisfaction and even comfort - we will embrace all of this.

  • Strength Built From Inside Out

Building strength is as much about rebuilding your own perception of your body and what it is capable of.

It’s completely fine to want to change things about how we look, but we can do this from a place of compassion and love.

You’re stronger than you think and using my "MVM Baker’s Dozen" strength training method, I’ll help you build and express this strength — physically and mentally. You'll get custom workouts, video guides, and walk-throughs to support your progress at every step.
